Things to Do
Kanye West: 5 things to do this week in Atlanta
The weekend is over, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
Foodies and music lovers are in for a great week.
Kick off the week with Kanye West’s concert at Philips Arena, then head to one of the restaurants participating in Midtown Restaurant Week or the Taste of Atlanta dinner series, to make the most out of your week.
Here are five things to do this week in Atlanta:
You never need an excuse to go to the museum, but we have a pretty good one just in case!
Visit the Woodruff Arts Center and play their newest installation. A public piano named “Carly” was recently installed by Play Me Again Pianos, a Georgia nonprofit organization that permanently maintains pianos that are accessible to the public.
Midtown Restaurant Week
Discover a new restaurant or revisit your old favorite during Midtown Restaurant Week. The restaurant week kicked off on Sept. 10 and goes through Sept. 18, offering prix-fixe menus at $15, $25 and $35.
Participating restaurants include Stk, City Winery, Saltwood and more.
Kanye West’s show at Philips Arena is sure to be a spectacle. The rapper will return to the venue as a part of his “The Saint Pablo Tour” on Sept. 12.
8 p.m. Sept. 12. $35-$145. Philips Arena, 1 Philips Dr., Atlanta. Philipsarena.com
Wednesdays at Skyline Park
Skyline Park kicked off a new series last week that will give patrons a reason to visit the rooftop venue throughout the month of September. “Peak of the Week” offers an evening with a “vintage circus theme” every Wednesday in September from 7 p.m.-11 p.m.
Listen to music provided by DJ Opdiggy while enjoying a contortionist, fortune teller, acrobat, “bearded lady” and more.
Admission to “Peak of the Week” is $15 per person. This price does not include the price of games, or food and drinks.
Taste of Atlanta dinner series
The 15th annual Taste of Atlanta festival doesn’t take place until October, but organizers are ensuring that foodies don’t have to wait until then to get a taste of what local chefs are cooking.
The “Taste of Atlanta dinner series” will take participants to a restaurant in four of Atlanta’s popular neighborhoods leading up to the 15th annual Taste of Atlanta festival in October.
Each of the dinners will offer five course menus for $85 per guest, including tax and tip, starting Sept. 13 at Colletta in Alpharetta.
