The fun doesn’t have to end with the holidays. There are plenty of great events to keep you entertained throughout the first month of 2017 in metro Atlanta.

From Honda Battle of the Bands to Atlanta Symphony Orchestra: The Music of David Bowie, here are five things to do in metro Atlanta in January:

Lukas Graham

Lukas Graham will perform at The Tabernacle on Jan. 10. The Danish band released their second studio album, featuring “Mama Said” and “7 Years” in 2015. The latter hit helped the band secure three Grammy nominations.

Little Mermaid at Fox

Revisit the tale of the Little Mermaid in January. The Fox Theatre will host a production of the show, based on the Disney animated film and Broadway musical. Bring the family along for singalongs to songs such as “Under the Sea” Jan. 12-15.

Troubadour

Country music fans will love this musical with original music by Sugarland’s Kristian Bush. In the production, country music singer Billy Mason’s son, Joe, works to create a name for himself in the shadow of his father’s legacy.

Honda Battle of the Bands

Celebrate the magic of HBCU marching bands at the annual Honda Battle of the Bands in January. North Carolina A&T State University and Alabama State University are among the bands that will perform at the Georgia Dome.

The Nile Project

Artists from 11 Nile countries have joined together as the collective musical group “The Nile Project,” touring to for educational concerts. The group will perform at the Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University on Jan. 28.

Atlanta Symphony OrchestraThe Music of David Bowie

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will pay tribute to the late David Bowie on Jan. 20. "Join Conductor Brent Havens, vocalist Tony Vincent and a full rock band on a symphonic musical odyssey that explores the incredible range of David Bowie's music including the hits Space Oddity, Changes, Under Pressure, Heroes, Rebel Rebel, Fame, China Girl and more," the ASO's website reads.

Bowie died January 10, 2016.

‘I See a Story: The Art of Eric Carle’

After nearly 9 months at the High Museum, the “I See a Story: The Art of Eric Carle” exhibit is nearing the end of its time at the High Museum. The exhibit offers a look at Carle’s work such as “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”

Chinese Lantern Parade

Centennial Olympic Park is currently hosting Atlanta's first Chinese Lantern Festival as a part of an ongoing celebration of the park's 20th anniversary. The festival includes handcrafted flowers, a three story pagoda and 200-foot-long Chinese dragon, and is open every night.

Ice skating

There are few things as romantic as holding on to your partner for dear life as you slide around an ice rink. A couple that falls together stays together.

From Avalon on Ice in north Fulton to Centennial Olympic Park’s annual ice rink, there are plenty of places to bundle up and bond over a solid block of ice this winter and a warm cup of hot chocolate.
