Johannes Vermeer's "Girl With a Pearl Earring" (circa 1665) has not been on view in the U.S. for more than three decades and has never been shown in the Southeast. It's the star attraction of "Girl With a Pearl Earring: Dutch Paintings From the Mauritshuis," opening at the High Museum of Art on June 23 and continuing through Sept. 29.
