MARIETTA

Slippery When Wet at Earl Smith Strand Theatre

If everyone has a physical double, Jason Morey must be Jon Bon Jovi’s and vice versa. So Morey took the job he was born to have and fronts a tribute band, which specializes in letter-perfect renditions of Bon Jovi’s greatest hits. “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Runaway,” “Wanted Dead or Alive” and more make they cut. Heck, they even study the real group’s live arrangements. Some audience members may have to look at their ticket stubs twice to make sure they’re at the right show. Yeah, Morey goes the extra mile, and he even has a Superman symbol tattooed on his left arm just like Jon Bon Jovi. His spot-on looks fooled comedian Dave Chappelle, who once gave Morey a backstage pass thinking he was the actual rocker.

8:30 p.m. Nov. 22. $15 advance; $18 at the door. Earl Smith Strand Theatre, 117 N. Park Square, Marietta. 770-293-0080, www.earlsmithstrand.org.

MORROW

Kenny Barron Trio at Spivey Hall at Clayton State University

Some call him one of the greatest living jazz pianists. Barron’s resume can easily help back up those claims. Having played on more than four dozen discs, his credits include holding down a spot in Dizzy Gillespie’s band, and collaborating with fellow jazz greats such as Stan Getz and Charlie Haden. And Barron got serious props in 2005 when he was inducted into the American Jazz Hall of Fame. Fans of the genre can see the master in action as he tickles the ivories alongside Kiyoshi Kitagawa on bass and Pete Van Nostrand on drums.

8:15 p.m. Nov. 23. $46. Spivey Hall, Clayton State University, 2000 Clayton State Blvd., Morrow. 678-466-4200, www.spiveyhall.org.

CANTON

Harvestfest at Tanglewood Farm

Tanglewood and its Wild West-themed village serve as the stomping ground to more than 100 miniature farm animals. Throughout the rest of November, the 10-acre facility celebrates National American Indian Heritage Month with this special event. It pays tribute to the members of the Cherokee tribe, who once called the area home. Visitors hunt for arrowheads, step inside a real tepee, and ride Appaloosa and Paint ponies, the same types of horses ridden by the Cherokees. Turkey and tiny buffalo are just a few of the creatures living there today. The celebration takes place through Nov. 30, and Tanglewood closes on Thanksgiving Day.

10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesdays-Fridays. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. $10; ages 11 months and younger free. Tanglewood Farm, 171 Tanglewood Drive, Canton. 770-667-6464, www.tanglewoodfarmminiatures.com.
