Georgia Satellites at Peachtree Pointe Amphitheater
Fans can attempt to keep their hands to themselves, but will likely have their feet on the floor dancing to the Satellites. The no-frills, early rock-inspired, Atlanta-based act rose to fame in the late ’80s. Although vocalist Dan Baird split a while back, founding member and ax man Rick Richards leads the group, which includes longtime bassist Rick Price. Expect a romp through the familiar chords of “Keep Your Hands to Yourself,” “Battleship Chains,” “Hippy Hippy Shake” and more.

‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ at Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg Library
Instead of having to take out a small loan to haul the brood to the movies, consider a free option. Save some green with this screening of “Jack the Giant Slayer” starring Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci and Ewan McGregor. Keep in mind the film is rated PG-13. Yeah, it’s based on a fairy tale, but you’ll see plenty of fantasy-style smack down and creepy creatures.

The Flying Colors Butterfly Festival at Chattahoochee Nature Center
It’s all about the colorful winged creatures as this special event returns. The highlight is the expanded Butterfly Encounter, an opportunity for guests to enter a tent and mingle with and hand-feed more than 250 butterflies, which flutter all around. Other entertainment includes live bluegrass tunes by Cedar Hill Bluegrass Band on July 13. Todd Key’s Flying Debris Show takes the spotlight on July 14. Arts and crafts, face painting, a barbecue food truck, ice cream and more will be on hand.
