LAWRENCEVILLE

Funny Fridays at Aurora Theatre

The theatre’s popular comedy series kicks off 2013 with the return of the acclaimed BlackTop Improv Group. This troupe launched in 1997 as the first African-American group in the area and carries admirable comedy credentials. It holds the distinction of having six members who have appeared on BET, HBO and Comedy Central. Hostess Debra Cole has spent the past year as the event’s comedic ringmaster, dispensing her own brand of humor along the way. Her career comes honest. Appropriately enough, Cole reportedly arrived in the world on April Fool’s Day.
