For one day anyway, it will be “Live with Kelly and Kelly.”
And what a day they’ve chosen for it!
The hit syndicated morning TV show “Live with Kelly” announced late Wednesday who star Kelly Ripa’s morning-after-the-election show co-host will be:
Megyn Kelly.
The Fox News Channel host presumably will be coming right from her duties hosting the No. 1 cable news channel’s Election Night coverage of the presidential showdown between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Kelly (Megyn, that is) has been attracting headlines for her election season work, beginning with the very first Republican candidates’ debate in August 2015, when a question from her about his attitudes towards women sparked Trump’s ire.
She was in the news again Tuesday night when she went at it with former Georgia congressman and Trump supporter Newt Gingrich over claims by 10 women that the Republian presidential nominee had groped or kissed them against their will. Gingrich accused her of being "fascinated with sex" — and he didn't mean it as a compliment.
Ripa, meanwhile, has been having guest co-hosts since mid-May, when her on-air partner of four years, Michael Strahan, unexpectedly bolted for a fulltime gig on "Good Morning America." That somewhat nasty TV breakup led to fans of the top-rated ABC show and its hosts taking sides on public media and intense speculation over who was angling to become Strahan's permanant replacement.

Kelly (Megyn, that is) likely doesn’t want the job fulltime of co-hosting with Kelly (Ripa, that is). Her appearance is probably timed to the release of her new book, “Settle for More,” a week later and the fact that her contract is up soon with Fox News. Still, it should make for a juicy hour as she and Ripa, no stranger herself to speaking her mind, dissect the just completed (we hope) presidential election results.
The “Live” guest list for the Nov. 9 show includes actress Naomi Watts and actor Michael Ealy. No Newt, apparently.
