The Pig & The Pearl preview
On July 28, chef Todd Richards and the team at the Shed at Glenwood previewed their new restaurant concept, The Pig & The Pearl. The smokehouse and raw bar, which combines two hot dining trends, is slated to open later this year at Atlantic Station. Kevin and Kent Rathbun on ‘Chopped’
Atlanta chef Kevin Rathbun has endured a few mishaps lately, including a fire at his namesake restaurant and a broken ankle. But on Aug. 11, Rathbun and his brother Kent will be featured on the Food Network show "Chopped," and there will be a watch party at Kevin Rathbun Steak. 7:30-10:30 p.m. $125 with proceeds benefiting a local charity. Slice & Pint soft opening
Slice & Pint, the pizza pub that took over the former Everybody's space in Emory Village, has been opening softly over the past week. The lunch and dinner menu includes specialty pizzas such as the Southern Pie with fried green tomatoes, sorghum pork belly bits and pimento cheese, plus appetizers, salads, slices, calzones and desserts. Semancik to Georgian Terrace
The Georgian Terrace Hotel recently announced the appointment of Michael Semancik as executive chef. Semancik, who takes the helm from Zeb Stevenson, will oversee all aspects of the food and beverage program, including Livingston Restaurant + Bar and Proof & Provision.
