La Urbana opens on Westside
La Urbana Tequila & Mezcal Bar opened softly for lunch last week while awaiting its state liquor license. The Huff Road Mexican restaurant from Jesus Onate, owner of Zapata Tacos & Tequila Bar in Norcross, will feature margaritas on tap and a host of specialty cocktails made with tequila, mezcal and sotol. So far, the menu includes the likes of tacos de rajas, empanadas de arroz con leche and tortas with pork carnitas. The Shed hosts ‘Treme’ dinner
The Shed at Glenwood is hosting a pop-up dinner on Feb. 23 featuring guest of honor Lolis Eric Elie, story editor for the HBO series "Treme" and the author of "Treme: Stories and Recipes From the Heart of New Orleans" (Chronicle Books, $29.95). Chefs Todd Richards, Duane Nutter and Justin and Jonathan Fox will be in the kitchen. Tiffanie Barriere and Dean Nichols will be behind the bar. $60 per person, includes family-style dinner and a signed copy of the book, plus a cash bar. Watershed fried chicken at lunch
Watershed on Peachtree's famous fried chicken special will now be on the menu on Wednesdays at both lunch and dinner, with lunch service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Chef Joe Truex told Atlanta Magazine, "We're frying them in the morning anyway — we start the process right before noon — so we figure, why not turn it loose?" College Park debuts Restaurant Week
College Park, home to Hartsfield-Jackson, the world's busiest airport, debuts its first Restaurant Week March 7-16, with special two- and three-course fixed price menus priced at $9 at lunch and $19 at dinner.
