Chastain Tavern open on Wieuca
Chastain Tavern has opened on Wieuca Road in the space previously occupied by Twisted Taco. "Created by four friends who saw an opportunity to bring a neighborhood tavern to the Chastain and Buckhead neighborhoods of Atlanta," the seasonal menu is "paired with craft spirits and beers and an extensive wine list." Bellwoods Social House opening
Bellwoods Social House, the new bar/restaurant from Leif Johnson, owner of Bite Bistro & Bar in Alpharetta, is set to open Thursday. Jason Morgan (Bite; Local Three) is the executive chef. Arianne Fielder (Parish; Article 14) is behind the bar. The concept, which replaces West & Mill Bistro & Bar, is based around American bar fare, with pizzas, salads and sandwiches. Original Chow Bing closes
Last week, Tomorrow's News Today reported on the closing of the original Chow Bing at Pencil Flats & Shops on Decatur Street with the word that owner Gary Lin has decided to focus on his new "Disco Kroger" location on Piedmont Road. Ron Eyester on ‘Top Chef’
The 12th season of "Top Chef," which was shot in Boston and premieres on Bravo TV on Oct. 15, features Atlanta's Ron Eyester, chef/owner of Rosebud, Family Dog and Timone's in Morningside, and Diner, which is set to open at Atlantic Station in September. And it turns out, sometimes Atlanta chef and "Top Chef All Stars" winner Richard Blais will join Hugh Acheson in a recurring role at the judges table.
