Janet's Kitchen, a new concept fusing Filipino and soul food, will open from 3-6 p.m. on July 23 for a special celebration of life and tasting with complimentary food, live jazz and specialty cookies. The event is timed to honor owner Nycole Sanders' mother, Janet, who passed away in 2016. "I wanted to have an opening party on my mother's birthday to celebrate her life and vision," explained Sanders. Amorino is set to open in Buckhead
Famous for its signature rose-sculpted scoops of premium gelato and sorbet, Paris-based Amorino is set to open its first Georgia brick-and-mortar location at Center Plaza at the Shops Buckhead Atlanta. The company boasts of using only the highest quality ingredients, including free-range organic eggs, whole-fruit purees and whole milk from France. Popular flavors include Stracciatella, Tiramisu, Pistachio Verde di Bronte, and Mango Alfonso d’India. And look for gluten-free flavors and cones, plus certified vegan options. NYC’s Mamoun’s Falafel in Georgia

Historic New York City Middle Eastern restaurant Mamoun's Falafel, is opening six franchise locations in Atlanta and Athens, the first in the Georgia market. Located in Greenwich Villagey, Mamoun's is known as the oldest falafel restaurant in New York and one of the first Middle Eastern establishments in the United States. The menu features vegetarian and and grilled meat dishes served as sandwiches or plates, plus sides and pastries. Fransmart, the global restaurant franchise development company behind brands such as Five Guys Burgers and the Halal Guys, is responsible for the deal. mamouns.com.

Foxeria Del Sol’s Hatch Chili Fest

Get you tickets in advance, as two of Atlanta’s favorite casual restaurant’s, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q and Taqueria del Sol, team up on Aug. 20 to benefit Hogs For The Cause and the fight against pediatric brain cancer. The Foxeria Del Sol Hatch Chili Fest, under tents at the Howell Mill location of Taqueria del Sol, celebrates of the arrival of the annual shipment of Hatch green chilies from New Mexico.
