Autumn is here and it’s a great time to fall in love with food all over again. In Decatur, three restaurants are offering seasonal dishes ranging from herb and beer chicken sausage with grits to smoked mushroom cobbler to cornmeal fried quail.

Twain's Brewpub & Billiards: Executive Chef Savannah Haseler launched a new fall menu that includes panko fried and poached White Oak Pastures eggs with pickled mustard seeds, local greens and warm bacon jam; herb and beer chicken sausage served with smoked pumpkin grits and a warm rapini and mushroom salad; and roasted garlic pork sausage served on a sweet potato hot dog bun, southern kimchi and pickle spear.

Mason Tavern: For Chef Chavez Hernandez, the fall menu is perfectly timed since this restaurant just opened in September. Menu selections include braised short rib ravioli served with Asian pear barbecue sauce and Chinese broccoli; bacon wrapped bison meatloaf complemented by whipped rutabaga and charred corn; and smoked mushroom cobbler with brandy, thyme and duck fat biscuits. Ladies and gents who brunch will also enjoy Mason Tavern's banana Fosters pancakes, served on Saturday. For more on pancakes, click here.

no. 246: Ford Fry's Vice President of Culinary and Executive Chef Drew Belline and Chef de Cuisine Justin Gottselig worked together to redesign the menus at no. 246, creating a blend of traditional Italian cooking with southern bounty. Guests can expect new dishes such as fried brussels with pancetta vinaigrette and pimento; roasted fall squash; and cornmeal fried quail. A few dishes have been refreshed to fit the season; those include pizza with zucchini, yellow squash, Grana Padano cheese and truffle vinaigrette as well as spinach fettuccine with braised rabbit, orange, San Marzano tomatoes and fennel. Brunch lovers will have a bevy of options to dive into including a braised short rib hash with charred cipollini onions, shishitto peppers, fingerling potatoes and a poached egg.
