Is it possible to enjoy a delicious dessert at a sushi restaurant? Yes. The Japanese pudding at District M is wonderful. Will they share the recipe? — Regina Watkins, Kennesaw

Yes, a sushi restaurant can also have a pastry chef who creates desserts meant to complement a meal of freshest seafood. District M’s pastry chef Kazumi Sakamaki offers Japanese custard pudding as one possible sweet ending to your meal. It’s made like a creme caramel. But unlike a creme caramel where the custard is inverted so the caramel is on top when it’s served, with Sakamaki’s version, you’ll spoon down through the custard to reach the caramel at the bottom of the ramekin.
