Prime rib
In my job as a restaurant writer, I get certain emails over and over again. One asks, “Where can I go for prime rib in Atlanta?” The answer: Highland Tap. I love the spicy rub, and the first few tender bites. I get a little bored with it after sawing off a few pieces. I’m not a huge roast beef fiend. I’d rather have a charred steak, but that’s me.

Heirloom Market BBQ
A few weeks back, Heirloom Market BBQ announced that it would convert to a to-go/catering operation only. Later came the news that a new non-barbecue restaurant is in the works from Heirloom’s chefs Jiyeon Lee and Cody Taylor. The new eatery will be housed in the former Kitsch’n 155 space on Clairmont Road, near the VA hospital. There are no plans to close the Heirloom To-Go location at this time.

Waffle House
With little hype or fanfare, one of the most successful restaurant chains in the country is expanding into the major leagues. Waffle House recently opened its first location at Turner Field. This location marks Waffle House’s very first restaurant that is not open 24 hours. The menu is limited, offering only hash browns and waffles a few ways.
