Sure, we may not have the Hollywood sign or the Empire State Building, but what makes Atlanta so unique is the number of different “skylines” in different neighborhoods. We know that every restaurant has a special view, but we made a few picks that are worth spending the evening, drink in hand, to admire the sky.

Joey D’s Oak Room

1015 Crown Pointe Parkway, Atlanta

770-512-7063

The view: Dunwoody skyline

If you can venture beyond the impressive library-style bar, the patio is the place to dine on their classic American fare. Nestled in OTP greenery, you can see the twin high-rises of the Perimeter Center just beyond the oaks. Seafood or steak options are the best bets, and don’t forget to order the popular honey butter croissants.

Uncle Julio’s Fine Mexican Food

1140 Hammond Drive N.E., Building K, Suite 100, Sandy Springs

678-736-8260

The view: Perimeter skyline

This is the restaurant group’s only two-story restaurant, and the architecture mirrors a geometric museum. Windows stretch from the ground-level patio to the roof, so take your pick on indoors or outdoor dining under the stars. Come for “Hump Day Hook Up” for drink specials all day.

Six Feet Under

Two locations: 437 Memorial Drive S.E., Atlanta; 685 11th St., Atlanta

The view: downtown skyline

Either the location in Grant Park or West Midtown offers a sprawling view of both the downtown and Midtown skylines. It’s voted by Travel + Leisure as among the 30 best outdoor bars, and you can’t beat the laid-back vibe when you’re sipping a refreshing draft beer.

Stats

300 Marietta St., Atlanta

404-885-1472

The view: downtown skyline

Stats is nestled among a row of lively bars on Marietta Street. Close to the action of the Georgia Dome, Centennial Park and Philips Arena, the atmosphere buzzes with sports fans, and the custom tap system lets you pour without dealing with servers.

Artmore Hotel

1302 W. Peachtree St., Atlanta

404-876-6100

The view: Midtown skyline

Drop the “hotel” from the title, and you get a classy, swank bar. Its tented outdoor patio mimics an ad for Ikea with AstroTurf grass and stark-white plump sofas to lounge on.

Park Tavern

500 10th St., Atlanta

404-249-0001

The view: Midtown skyline

We can’t mention astounding views without including this gem that overlooks Piedmont Park. The patio illuminates a blue glow and highlights the “tweezer” building that rises above 14th Street.

Rooftop 866

866 W. Peachtree St., Atlanta

678-412-2402

The view: Midtown skyline

Not many rooftop bars are seasonal, but this one makes it worth the wait. Fire pits, lanterns and ambient lighting are speckled among the pebbled stone and faux greenery. Their cocktails are equally approachable and creative.

Whiskey Blue

3377 Peachtree Road N.E., Atlanta

678-500-3192

The view: Buckhead skyline

The ride up the glass elevator to this rooftop bar is fun enough, and on the way down after a martini or two, it can feel like a carnival ride. The vibe is polished, and the flowy curtains surrounding sleek couches allow for intimacy on the outdoor terraces.
