Coming home: These are the Atlanta homecoming events to attend this month

Homecoming week —not only for current students but alumni — is the most anticipated week of the fall.

For the cool kids still attending classes, the week means more than just celebration — it's the culmination of the entire college semester.

For those students and alumni who call Georgia State University, Georgia Tech, Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University and more, these are the events to keep pencil into your calendar to ensure an eventful homecoming:

Morehouse College will be hosting a slew of events starting as early as Oct. 20 leading with the Crown Forum. For correct times, make sure to check out the school's website for location and tickets.

  • Homecoming Opening Worship begins Oct. 23
  • R&B concert is Oct. 25
  • Pep Rally is Oct. 27
  • Morehouse Coronation Ball is Oct. 27

Georgia State University's Spotlight Program will be introducing every event that will be taking place on the school campus. Events begin as early as Oct. 5 as the Royal Court is introduced in Unity Plaza for the 2016-2017 school year. For more events, how to purchase tickets and event times head over to the GSU website. Here are some dates to remember:

  • Unleash the Panther Spirit: Newton Fall Fun Day will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 17.
  • "Laugh Your Paws Off" comedy show is Oct. 19
  • Golf Cart Parade will take place at Hurt Park on Oct. 20 at 12 p.m.

Clark Atlanta University will also be hosting a few unforgettable homecoming events. They will begin Oct. 9 with their annual cookout. For tickets, events, location and times check into Clark Atlanta's website.

  • Coronation ball will be held on Oct. 10
  • The fashion show is on Oct. 12 in the Epps Gymnasium
  • The hip-hop Concert will be held in Panther Stadium at 7 p.m. Oct. 13
  • Wild-N-Out Comedy Show: CAU Edition will be held on Oct. 14

Last but not least, Georgia Tech will be hosting their own signature events for homecoming week as events begin on Thursday Oct.20 with Carnival at 11 a.m. followed by their musical concert at 7 p.m.

  • Georgia Southern University  vs. Georgia Tech will be at 12 p.m. Oct. 15.
  • Powderpuff Football Game will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 21
  • The AASU Grown & Jazzy Dance is on Oct. 23
  • The Obstacle Course, Banner Hang Up Contest, and Mock Rock is Oct. 24
  • The events conclude with game day on the Oct. 29
