The ArtsBridge Foundation connects Georgia students in grades K-12 with the arts, so it's fitting that its upcoming fundraising gala will feature performances by talented youths.

Students from Woodland Elementary School’s fifth-grade percussion ensemble and Flat Rock Middle School’s seventh-grade show chorus, along with a group of students who participated in the 2015 Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards/Shuler Hensley Awards program, will entertain during the event, planned for Sept. 18 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre ballroom. The reception starts at 5:45 p.m. and the dinner and program begin at 6:15 p.m.

At 8 p.m., Tony and Emmy Award-winning Broadway star and actress Kristin Chenoweth will take the stage at the adjoining Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre theater, and the Shuler Awards students will join her during her performance. Keep an eye out for Delaney Circe of Buford High School, Brody Grant of North Forsyth High School, Hayden Kerzie of Milton High School, Kelsey Lorenzoni of Cartersville High School, Mary Caroline Owens of Milton High School, L'Oreal Roache of Pope High School, Jeremiah Robinson of Cartersville High School and Connor Wood of Forsyth Central High School during the special number.

Joanne Truffelman and Valery Voyles are co-chairing the gala.

“I know that our work, along with the contributions of generous sponsors, attendees and supporters, will make a positive impact in the lives of thousands of young people,” Truffelman said.

Michael Taormina, who retires in a few months as managing director of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, is serving as the event's honorary chair.

“I have been fortunate to have a rewarding career in venue management and the performing arts, and firmly believe that the work of ArtsBridge Foundation is building a new generation of artists and arts supporters,” he said.

Gala tickets are $300 each or $3,000 for a table of 10.
