WWE wrestler “Iron” Mike Sharpe has died, the organization announced Monday.

In a statement on their website, WWE said they are "saddened to learn that Michael Sharpe, known to WWE fans as "Iron" Mike Sharpe, has passed away at age 64. WWE extends its condolences to Sharpe's family, friends and fans."

Sharpe was born in Canada and named himself "Canada’s Greatest Athlete." He made his WWE debut in 1983 and was managed by WWE Hall of Famer Captain Lou Albano.

Sharpe used a black brace on his forearm, which would often hold hidden objects, in moves to defeat opponents.

His last WWE match was in 1995 against Billy & Bart, The Smoking Gunns.

Once Sharpe retired, he taught at his own school, training WWE Superstars Charlie Haas and Simon Dean.
