The man who plays The Most Interesting Man in the World in commercials for Dos Equis beer appears larger than life and has an accent in the ads, but he's actually a New York-born Jew who's just 5'7".
Jonathan Goldsmith, 76, may not be able to brag about the same exploits as his characdter, but he has had an interesting acting career.
Goldsmith says he played bit parts, usually the villain, and was a struggling actor when he was hired for the Dos Equis role. Nine years later, his estimated worth is about $8 million.
Goldsmith said was beaten up 16 times on the TV show “Gunsmoke.”
