Happy New Year, everyone. Let’s start 2012 with some filming updates.

First, John Travolta and Robert De Niro are coming down South for a movie called "Killing Season," a thriller set in the mountains. It'll be filming mostly north of here, and the project needs a few good hands, according to the Georgia Department of Economic Development. Millennium Films is accepting crew resumes for the film, to be directed by Mark Steven Johnson (Ghost Rider, Daredevil). Things get cranking later this month. If you're interested in working on the film, email your resume to killingseason2012@gmail.com.

Clint Eastwood also is headed our way in the new year. His project, "Trouble With the Curve," is a baseball-themed movie about an aging sports scout who tries to mend fences with his estranged daughter while on a baseball recruiting trip. Industry reports say Sandra Bullock originally was up for this role but that Amy Adams may be taking it on instead.

The industry publication P3 has named Georgia No. 3 on its list of top filming locations (behind California and Connecticut), and no wonder, with a slew of projects filming here since legislators voted in a raft of tax incentives. Following a full year of filming last year, here's list of scheduled release dates for films shot here last year:

"Joyful Noise" (Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton):  Jan. 13; "Good Deeds" (Tyler Perry, Thandie Newton, Gabrielle Union, Phylicia Rashad): Feb. 24; "Wanderlust" (Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd):  Feb. 24;  "The Three Stooges" (Chris Diamantopoulos, Sean Hayes Will Sasso, Jennifer Hudson, Jane Lynch and some of the "Jersey Shore" crew): April 4; "American Reunion" (Alyson Hannigan, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Eugene Levy, Jason Biggs, Jennifer Coolidge, Katrina Bowden, Thomas Ian Nicholas and Seann William Scott): April 6;  "The Wettest County" (Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Mia Wasikowska, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Jessica Chastain): April 20;  "What to Expect When You're Expecting" (Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Dennis Quaid, Chris Rock, Matthew Morrison, Brooklyn Decker and Anna Kendrick): May 11; "Neighborhood Watch" (Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller): July 27 and "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" (Jennifer Garner): Aug. 15. The Billy Bob Thornton project "Jayne Mansfield's Car," also starring Kevin Bacon, John Hurt, Robert Patrick and Robert Duvall, is set to come out in 2013.

What do HLN host Nancy Grace and boxer Evander Holyfield have in common? Both are known for their aggressive tendencies (although her jabs are verbal). Both showed their moves on "Dancing With the Stars." And both have taken in "Mission Impossible" at the Brookhaven Cinebistro lately. The barrister turned author and commentator viewed the action thriller Tuesday night. The champ was there over the holidays.
