After a DUI arrest in May, and rumors spreading about rehab, Tiger Woods said Monday evening on Twitter that he is getting help for his problems.
"I'm currently receiving professional help to manage my medications and the ways that I deal with back pain and a sleep disorder," the statement, which was also issued to The Associated Press, said. "I want to thank everyone for the amazing outpouring of support and understanding especially the fans and players on tour."
Woods was arrested on May 28 after Jupiter, Florida, police say the golfing legend was asleep behind the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz.
The 41-year-old told police he did not have anything to drink that evening, and his Breathalyzer result later showed 0.000 at the Palm Beach County Jail. His urine sample results have not been released.
Woods, who underwent a fourth back surgery in April, told police that he took prescribed medications, including Vicodin.
