In "Dance Your Ass Off"'s first-ever dance/weight-loss finale, Ruben danced his way off the stage $100,000 richer and 74 pounds thinner when he out-danced and out-lost two other finalists.
"As the oldest contestant, I felt 'Dance Your Ass Off' would be a once in a lifetime chance for me," says Ruben. "Being on the show enabled me to step out of my life for a few weeks and completely focus on me. I love to dance and if I could lose some weight by doing it, hooray!"
Ruben beat out Shayla and Pinky, who competed with him in the season finale, when they each performed two dances -- one of their choice and one judges' choice. Shayla, who lost 35 pounds, was the first to be eliminated; followed by Pinky, who lost 30 lbs and performed her final routines with a painful injury that could have sidelined her.
