Comedian Katt Williams has been ordered to pay $577,929 to an Atlanta record producer over a dog attack during a debt dispute, according to a report on tmz.com.

Merion Joseph Powers had been seeking $1 million in the lawsuit filed in Fulton County Superior Court in March.

Powers said the comic owed him $28,600 for time spent in his recording studio. He said Williams brought his dog with him to the studio for a meeting in October 2009. During the encounter, Williams "gave his dog a verbal attack signal," and the comic's dog attacked Powers' dog, which suffered "substantial and nearly life-threatening" injuries, the civil complaint alleged.
