Michael Strahan has made good on reports that he's joining "Good Morning America" by paying a visit to the ABC breakfast show on Tuesday.
The former football star and current co-host with Kelly Ripa of “Live With Kelly and Michael” got a red-carpet welcome from the “GMA” team.
Anchor Robin Roberts expressed excitement that Strahan will be there “a couple of days a week.”
Then the cast presented him with an alarm clock and a huge coffee cup.
His brief appearance ended with promises he’ll be back “next week.”
Strahan joins Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Amy Robach, Lara Spencer and Ginger Zee on television’s top-rated morning show.
Unconfirmed reports of Strahan’s new part-time gig surfaced early this month. He has said this side job won’t affect his daily duties hosting “Live.”

MSNBC says its host Lawrence O'Donnell was injured with his brother Michael in a taxi accident Saturday while vacationing out of the country. The network didn't specify where the accident occurred.
The two were transported back to the United States — Lawrence to New York and Michael to Boston. They are both under the care of doctors and are expected to make a full recovery, the network said.
O’Donnell will be off the air for several weeks as he recuperates. MSNBC said Ari Melber is scheduled to fill in for him on “The Last Word” today and Thursday.
A political analyst, journalist, writer and producer, O’Donnell has hosted “The Last Word” since 2010. It airs Mondays through Thursdays at 10 p.m.

Drake is carving out a new niche as a television host and will helm the 2014 ESPYs, the sports award show of ESPN.
The Toronto-based rapper, singer and actor and the sports entertainment network announced the gig Wednesday. The annual light-hearted awards show will be held July 16 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live.
Drake’s used to the live TV thing. He turned in a strong performance as host and musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” in January. And he hosted the 2011 Juno Awards in Canada.
The 27-year-old also has ties to the sports world. He’s affiliated with the NBA’s Toronto Raptors and memorably played a teen basketball player on “Degrassi: The Next Generation” before picking up the mic.
