The lobby of the Buckhead W hotel looked positively regal in the pre-dawn hours Friday morning, as eager royal wedding watchers gathered for a viewing party complete with scones, champagne and William and Kate church fans. With Vikki Locke, Kelly Stevens and Jessica Forkel from the B 98.5 FM Morning Show broadcasting live from the lobby, guests crowded around a huge television to watch the blessed event from across the pond. Megan Linn and daughter Rosemary, 5, left their Doraville home at 5:30 a.m. to join the fun. Rosemary, adorable in a tiny veil, is big into Disney princesses these days. "I wanted her to meet a real princess," her mom said. "We talk about how she is smart, how she went to college," Linn said. Guests including Jeannette Clackum, Sheila Gale, Harriett Kropff, Susan Alterman and Elizabeth Jennings, wore glorious hats. Donna Culler, who attended with her friend Karen Lim, broke out the tiara. Culler's son William and Lim's daughter Kate are both 3 and simply must get married when they grow up. "They're the real William and Kate," Lim said. Meanwhile Piedmont Park hosted a throng of wedding watchers, including Candy Parrow, Kate Hausmann, Sarah Boltz and Beth Hausmann, at a grand party under a tent. God Save the (future) Queen!
Next "American Pie" flick seeks extras
The Brits have their fancy royal weddings and we have the ribald "American Pie" series. (Anyone else sometimes wonder if Mother England would have us back?) Anyway, the latest installment, "American Reunion," starring the whole gang including Jason Biggs, Eugene Levy, Alyson Hannigan and Seann William Scott, will film here soon. The movie needs tons of extras, so casting director Bill Marinella has announced an open casting call from 9 a.m. to noon May 7 at AMTC, 2000 Powers Ferry Rd. They need high school students -- think cheerleaders, jocks, bikini-clad spring breakers -- as well as parent types. If you attend the casting call bring two forms of legal I.D. like your license or birth certificate. You must be 18.
