If your invitation to the Kate and William Show got lost in the mail, consider this your Plan B. Vikki Locke, queen of the Atlanta airwaves, and her consort Kelly Stevens, will broadcast the B98.5 FM Morning Show live from the Buckead W hotel's lobby on Friday morning and would love for you to join them. The first 98 listeners to arrive will receive a commemorative champagne flute, and guests are encouraged to wear their finest millinery. The show, which airs weekdays from 5 to 9 a.m., will feature interviews with some special guests and the W will be dishing up a British-inspired breakfast menu. If that's a little early for you to be up and about, the hotel is offering some royal rates for the event. See www.watlantabuckhead.com for details.

House parties

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's 2011 Decorators' Show House is scheduled to reopen at 10 a.m. today after downed trees and lines knocked out power to the home and forced it to close Tuesday. Tours of the Buckhead home, known as the "Lotus House," and related events including a series of luncheons and lectures, benefit the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. The home will be open through May 8. For details see decoratorsshowhouse.org. In other show-house news, the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art's Art & Design Show House kicks off with an opening night gala May 6, wraps with a champagne toast and culinary demonstration by Johnnie Gabriel on May 22 and will be open on the weekends in between. The home faces Whitlock Drive, just off Whitlock Avenue, in historic Marietta. For details see www.MariettaCobbArtMuseum.org or www.ArtAndDesignShowHouse.com.

Buzz in our ear

Cincinnati Bengals player and tweeter extraordinaire Chad Ochocinco apparently is in town staying fit in the offseason. "Rainy weather in Atlanta, headed to the track," he posted Monday night. He also tweeted a request to see if he could use some of Georgia Tech's facilities, although it's not clear how serious that was. "We haven't seen him," Tech Athletic Association spokesman Dean Buchan told us Tuesday. Not that it would be a big deal if No. 85 does show up, he said, as Ochocinco's teammate Michael Johnson is a Tech alum. And of course actor-warlock Charlie Sheen stopped by batting practice last week while he was in town for his "Torpedo of Truth" tour stop.

Overscene

Orlando Magic player and Atlanta native Dwight Howard, in town for games against the Atlanta Hawks, hit Straits Friday night (Saturday morning, actually) for a late-night nibble. He arrived around 1:30 a.m. and went to town on some shrimp Pad Thai.
