What great timing. Georgia Public Broadcasting is celebrating its 50th anniversary as fans of "Gone With the Wind" celebrate its 75th anniversary. So naturally GPB plans a "GWTW"-themed party for its big 5-0. The event, at 7 p.m. June 9 at the Georgian Terrace, will feature a sneak peek of the new GPB documentary "Margaret Mitchell: American Rebel," along with a display of photos, letters, and personal items; a performance of Mitchell's favorite gospel hymns by a local Baptist choir; and dramatic readings from her work. The menu by Zeb Stevenson, executive chef at the Georgian Terrace's restaurant, will reinterpret the spread at the 1939 party celebrating the movie adapted from Mitchell's 1936 novel. The evening ends with dancing to the tunes of the 1920s, '30s and '40s. Tickets are $250 each, attire is black-tie optional and proceeds benefit Georgia Public Broadcasting. For reservations and information call Pamela Benson at 404-685-2573 or Micah Thomas at 404-685-2644 or see www.gpb.org/margaret-mitchell/gala.
Big fish at the Fish Market
Our well-placed sources swimming around the Atlanta Fish Market have reeled in a couple of fun scoops for us. "American Idol" host and metro-Atlanta native Ryan Seacrest, in town for Coca-Cola's big 125th anniversary bash over the weekend, had lunch there with his family Saturday. He had managed to slip in undetected and was enjoying a low-key meal, but then dropped his phone, turning heads. Ever the genial personality, Seacrest was gracious with fans who recognized him after the clatter. In other news, Cam Newton, Westlake High School standout turned Auburn University star turned top draft pick, had lunch there Thursday. The brand-new Carolina Panthers quarterback dined solo.

Buzz in our ear
The Atlanta Girls' School might be featured in one of the final episodes of "The Oprah Winfrey Show." Apparently one of Winfrey's farewell shows will feature her work in education. The Atlanta Girls School is among the institutions Winfrey supports, and producers contacted the school the other day for a video clip showing the school and its students. There's no guarantee the school will make it on air but we have our fingers crossed!
