Atlanta must be full of "Days of Our Lives" fans. More than 2,500 of you showed up at Suwanee City Hall this week when cast members made an appearance to promote "Days of our Lives 45 Years: A Celebration in Photos," a new book about the show. We hear the event lasted three hours longer than planned, and that police officers were needed to direct the flow of traffic. The "Days" folks told us that this was the biggest turnout yet on the show's national tour. The crowd in Chicago numbered 1,500, which had been the largest crowd to date until the stop in metro Atlanta. (Think about that. Chicago: 1,500. Suwanee: 2,500.) "The cast and I were thrilled and overwhelmed by the large number of our family of fans that came to see us Monday," said executive in charge of production Greg Meng, who presented Suwanee Mayor Dave Williams with an honorary "Days" hourglass to thank the town for its hospitality. The cast members – Nadia Bjorlin, metro Atlanta native Chandler Massey, James Reynolds, Eric Martsolf, Galen Gering, Josh Taylor and Crystal Chappell - had to pull up the stakes before getting to meet everyone who turned out for the event. If you missed out, you can e-mail DaysBooks@itgirlpublicrelations.com to order a book signed by the cast members. You'll also get a special gift and thank-you note signed by the cast.

Buzz in our ear

Here's a quick update for you regarding a charity hair event. From 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, stylists at the Van Michael Salon in Buckhead will offer free haircuts to those donating their tresses to Locks of Love, which provides hairpieces to children who have lost theirs due to illness or chemotherapy. (The salon will not be accepting monetary donations -- just follicular ones. If you'd like to donate see www.locksoflove.org). The first 10 people to participate Monday will receive a copy of the Disney movie "Tangled," which hits stores Tuesday.
