The popular Christian station 104.7/The Fish has hired a new afternoon host, moving longtime personality Dan Ratcliffe to a new position as creative services director for Salem Atlanta. Beth Bacall, who is currently on Star 99.1, a Christian station in the New York/New Jersey area, will take over Ratcliffe's on-air post later this summer. The Fish is one of the most popular Christian contemporary stations in the country and has been a steady performer over the past 11 years in Atlanta. It draws nearly 600,000 listeners a week and is frequently ranked in the top 10 among 25-to-54-year-old listeners. It also has had the most stable lineup of any radio station in town, with the same morning, midday and afternoon hosts since its inception.
Film project plans some holy rolling in Decatur
Oakhurst Church in Decatur is undergoing a transfiguration. The Billy Bob Thornton movie "Jayne Mansfield's Car" will film there Tuesday, so crews will be at work this weekend to make the building, at 630 East Lake Dr., look like a 1960s-era hardware store. The project also stars Robert Duvall, Dwight Yoakam, Kevin Bacon and Pierce Brosnan.
