A slew of civic-minded Atlantans will put their best feet forward for a worthy cause next month. The "Dancing Stars of Atlanta" event, planned for 7 p.m. June 18 at the Loews Hotel Atlanta, benefits the Alzheimer's Association's Georgia chapter.  "A staggering increase in the number of Alzheimer's diagnoses has catapulted this dreadful disease into one of the nation's most critical health concerns," said Jenny Pruitt, founder and CEO of Atlanta Fine Homes, who will be among the dancers. "It is a privilege to be involved." Joining Pruitt on the dance floor will be former Mayor Shirley Franklin, chef and restaurant owner Kevin Rathbun, entrepreneur Aida Flamm, Best Self Atlanta magazine publisher Sherri Adair, photographer and salon owner Richie Arpino, Georgia Tech head cheerleading coach and marketing director Mindy Hylton, Alzheimer's Association vice president Stephen Brown, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's Dr. Bob Harrison, Aesthetic Specialty Centre's Dr. Marc Yune, and McKenna Long & Aldridge attorney Steve Labovitz. Professional dancers from the Daza Dance Academy, Allure Dance Atlanta and Ballroom Dance Clubs of Atlanta will spin the participants around the dance floor, while former Mayor and Ambassador Andrew Young and his wife Carolyn will serve as honorary chairs.  Tickets are $150 each and a table of 10 is $2,000. The Jon-John Show?

Although rapper  Lil Jon was not the last man standing at the conclusion of "Celebrity Apprentice," his stint on the Donald Trump reality show resulted in $80,000 for the United Methodist Children's Home in Decatur. The facility, which has served foster kids for 140 years, welcomed Lil Jon, his wife Nicole and 13-year-old son Nathan at a ceremony this week to celebrate. During a news conference the artist said the competition was tiring yet rewarding. He and country singer John Rich, who won the competition, have known each other for years and enjoyed spending time together on the show. In fact, Lil Jon said he'd love to collaborate with his friend and that a possible reality show is in the early planning stages.
