Oprah teams up with Weight Watchers

Oprah Winfrey and Weight Watchers have just announced a partnership.

The billionaire bought a 10 percent stake in the company and also joins the Weight Watchers board of directors.  That 10 percent stake cost Winfrey more than $43 million.

The Weight Watchers home page currently features a picture of Winfrey with a statement she wrote: "I'm ready. Are you? Come join me."

The former talk show host will make appearances for the company and will also help develop programs and initiatives throughout the five-year partnership.

Shortly after details about the deal were released, the company's shares dramatically increased.
