LAWRENCEVILLE
Radio Cult at Sportsline Bar & Grille
Sure, rock’s landscape has morphed from the arena pageantry of the '70s and big-haired indulgence of the ’80s to what it is today. Yet Atlanta-based party band Radio Cult still remembers the power of party-hearty anthems, and the importance of not just an Eddie Van Halen-inspired riff but the subsequent flying jump. If AC/DC’s Angus Young bred with Cyndi Lauper, it might result in something like guitarist Bambi Lynn. She and bassist Ricky Zero share vocal duties while ripping through everything from hard rock staples (“Crazy Train,” “You Shook Me All Night Long”) to ’80s pop (“Jessie’s Girl”) to ’90s gems (“Basket Case”). The duo, along with drummer Jay Jay and guitarist Frak, surely will sprinkle in a couple of cuts from the band’s new disc of all-original tunes, “Never Enough.” Ages 21 and older are welcome.
10 p.m. Feb. 24. Free. Sportsline Bar & Grille, 2100 Riverside Parkway, Lawrenceville. 770-995-5210, www.radiocult.com.
