Spears, 34, posted the photo on Monday, bearing a bikini and soaking up some sun beside a pool.

While some have said her body encourages fitness and preparation for the upcoming summer season, others claim Spears' photo is Photoshopped.

"You need a lesson in how to photoshop so it's not so obvious," one Instagram user wrote.

Critics argue that the arch in Spears' back is too defined and offer explanations as to how it's "obvious" that's she edited the photo, saying water appears underneath her back where the pool's concrete border should continue. Defenders said the discoloration below Spears' back is just a shadow.

Others said it doesn't matter if she Photoshopped the picture.

"You look amazing! Let the haters hate," one person wrote.

Spears, who posted a video in the same swimsuit two weeks prior, hasn't responded to the criticisms.

"Whoever is in the spotlight, people are really quick to judge," she recently told  V magazine. She appeared on the magazine's March issue. "It's just the way the world works, unfortunately. I've been doing this for 20 years. I kind of don't pay attention to it. I have my relationship with God and myself and that's what matters to me. I really don't care what most people think," she said.
