Mostly Mutts, a local charity that works to reduce the number of animals euthanized at metro Atlanta shelters, plans a French-themed cocktail bash from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Provenance Antiques, 1192 Huff Road N.W. in Atlanta.

The fun and furry fundraiser, held in partnership with the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, will feature specialty cocktails and wine from Perrine’s Wine Shop and vegan-friendly finger foods and noshes from Harry’s Farmers Market.

The suggested donation is $20 per person. A silent auction will feature items donated by event sponsors Delta, Inside CNN Studio Tour, Bacchanalia, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Perrine’s Wine Shop, Sam’s Hair Salon, Pure Barre Fitness, Elevation Chop House & Skybar, Lululemon, Ormsby’s, Le Jardin Francais, Cumming Beverage Mart, Harry’s Farmers Market, Octane Coffee Bar & Lounge, Back Side Fabrics and Anis Café & Bistro.

Guests also will have the opportunity to meet and greet adoptable dogs on-site.

Since 2004, Mostly Mutts has been working closely with animal control officers to save adoptable dogs that would otherwise be put down. The dogs are sometimes sick or injured and require rehabilitation. Mostly Mutts provides housing, health care, training, and physical and emotional care to them until they can be placed in a new home. Weekly adoption events are held to help the dogs find homes.

The nonprofit organization is staffed by volunteers and is privately funded through donations. See www.mostlymutts.org for more information on the group and Saturday night's event.

Actor gets engaged in Atlanta

Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish got engaged Monday night at a private party at Yebo, the trendy South African restaurant at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta's Buckhead district. Guests included rapper-actor Ludacris, producer Will Packer and entertainment host Kenny Burns.

Hart, who is in Atlanta working on “Ride Along 2,” rented the place out for what Parrish, who’s a model, thought was a smallish birthday dinner. Her honey had her family and friends hiding behind a curtain. Surprise!

The crowd enjoyed Yebo favorites including chicken spring rolls, ahi tuna, Greek salad, grilled salmon and lamp chop lollipops. Then it was time for the birthday girl to blow out her candles. Another surprise: Along with the cake came a ring.

"She was totally surprised by everything — the birthday and proposal," said Yebo owner Justin Anthony. "It was a really cool, fun night."
