Bobbi Kristina Brown has been moved to hospice care as her legally appointed conservator has filed suit against her companion Nick Gordon.
“Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate. As of today, she has been moved into hospice care,” Pat Houston, Bobbi Kristina’s aunt, said in a statement. “We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.”
Last month, a judge appointed Pat Houston and Bobby Brown as Bobbi Kristina’s co-guardians, meaning they jointly are empowered to make decisions regarding her care. Atlanta attorney Bedelia Hargrove was appointed conservator, responsible for her assets, rights and legal claims.
Hargrove filed suit on Bobbi Kristina’s behalf against Nick Gordon, claiming that he harmed Bobbi Kristina physically, wrested control over her finances and has taken money from her during the time she has been hospitalized. His attorney declined to comment.
Bobbi Kristina often referred to Gordon as her “husband,” although the two were never legally married.
“Merry Christmas to me! You’re the best husband a young woman could ever ask for. I love you and thank you for being my joy,” she posted in a Twitter message tagging Gordon on Dec. 25, just over a month before she would be found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub.
The suit, filed in Fulton County Superior Court, portrays Gordon as a deceitful opportunist who became violent.
“(Gordon) often answered Brown’s personal cell phone, would not allow her to make appointments without his approval, and manipulated her bank relationship so that he could access her money,” the suit claims. “This was all part of a scheme to benefit from her wealth.”
The suit also says Gordon physically harmed Brown by “punching her in the face, knocking out a front tooth and dragging her upstairs by her hair.”
The suit says Bobbi Kristina planned to meet with a confidant to discuss her concerns on Jan. 31 but never made it: “Instead, on the morning of Jan. 31, Brown became embroiled in a loud argument with (Gordon) at her townhome. The loud argument ended and Brown was later found unresponsive and unconscious, face down in a bathtub, with her mouth swollen and another tooth knocked out. As a direct and proximate result of (Gordon’s) conduct, Brown has suffered life-threatening bodily harm and damages.”
The lawsuit seeks “at least $10 million.”
