Soccer star David Beckham and his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria, are reportedly thinking about naming their baby daughter – due in July – “Atlanta.”

The Sun newspaper in London reported last week that the Beckhams had “shortlisted names, but told very close family that Atlanta was a favorite.”

Having logged many hours jetting between London and Los Angeles, where David Beckham plays for the Galaxy soccer team, the newspaper, citing an unnamed source, said that "David wanted a name that was relevant to their lives during the conception."

However, another United Kingdom newspaper, the Daily Mail, reported Tuesday that a spokeswoman for the couple has denied reports they were considering calling the girl Atlanta.

It wouldn’t be the first time the couple looked to American geography for a child’s name.

The oldest of their three sons is named Brooklyn, a name that Victoria Beckham said in her autobiography was chosen because she was in New York when she discovered that she was pregnant.
