Bronner Brothers Retro: Way Back in the Day

Photos from Atlanta's Bronner Brothers International hair show through the years, from a dream and small beginning to a mega show.

Attendees could get hands-on training.

From early on, the show drew cosmetologist students, barbers and makeup artists.

Fashion has been a big part of the experience.

Bronner Brothers was founded in 1947 by Dr. Nathaniel H. Bronner Sr. and his brother Arthur E. Bronner. In the six decades since, the Bronner Bros. name has become synonymous nationally with cutting-edge hair styles and conventions that draw thousands to Atlanta. This year's conclave at the Georgia World Congress Center runs Aug. 2-5.

The brothers' dream that became a mega trade show began 60 years ago.

Bronner Bros. has been a trend-setter over the years.

In earlier years, the beauty show offered giveaways, like this Cadillac.

As Bronner Bros. grew, the show moved from the YMCA to the Royal Peacock Social Club, and later to the Auburn Avenue Casino.
