Behind the scenes at the Netherworld

Go behind-the-scenes at the Netherworld as 100 actors ready to terrorize guests.

It's that time of the year.

because we're headed to Netherworld haunted house in Norcross.

Netherworld Haunted House, a popular, fright-filled annual Halloween attraction at 6624 Dawson Blvd. in Norcross, is open nightly through Nov. 3, 2012.

And while the frights inside the Netherworld might have guests screaming in terror, this is part of the Netherworld that most don't get to see. It's a look behind-the-scenes.

Netherworld features more than 100 live actors every night.

So before they venture out into the depths of the Netherworld, they all visit a massive makeup room where artists go to work, creating the creatures guests encounter on a visit.

Leila Langford of Mableton is terrified as "Mega-Mouth" from the movie "Zombieland" reaches out to have a bite.

If the Netherworld ghouls don't get you, the clowns might.

While you're spinning, this is what steps in your path.

Upon entering the corridor of "Screeching Banchiees," a group of teenaged girls let out their own screams.

People were lined up more than an hour before this year's Netherworld opening.

No matter your age, when you don't know what's around the corner you can get scared at Netherworld.

Depending on your age, a family out for an evening of thrills can run through many emotions.
