It's hot-- from the time the sun rises to the time the sun sets and every bit of time in between. If you're getting cabin fever from staying indoors, here are six climate controlled ideas for fun.

Discover a new museum. When was the last time you visited one of Atlanta's lesser known museums? The Atlanta Monetary Museum, Museum of Design Atlanta, Michael C. Carlos Museum and Delta Flight Museum are all off the beaten path of tourist destinations but well worth a visit. Have you ever been to the Millennium Gate Museum? Dine and shop at Atlantic Station, visit the museum and make it a day.

Make it a Roswell and Alpharetta fun day. If you're ready to enjoy some air conditioning while you play, head to Alpharetta or Roswell where Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, The Cooler, Main Event Entertainment, SkyZone and Topgolf area all within a few minutes of each other. Add to your OTP day by enjoying a meal at one of the locally owned restaurants in each town's bustling downtown area. Eat your way through Roswell with this guide.

Head to a movie. Whether you're looking for a theater that is more adult friendly or bringing along the family for a kid-friendly show, Atlanta's numerous movie theaters are offering all the latest movies plus a few discounted children's movie times each week.

Enjoy a round of indoor mini golf. You might want to leave your littlest monsters at home when you venture to Monster Mini Golf in Marietta. The lights are turned out as you putt your way through the ghoulishly decorated glow in the dark 18-hole course. If the monster madness gets too much for the kids, Catch Air is right next door.

Rediscover an Atlanta attraction. If you haven't been to the "new" World of Coca-Cola, summertime is the right time to go. Bask in their properly chilled exhibits and take in the new take on the company's history. Additionally, there is a 4D theater, art showcase and the beloved tasting room which, when combined, will give you a few hours worth of entertainment for a reasonable price.

Lace up. Take your turn spinning around on the ice or holding onto the railing during one of the local ice rink's open skate times. The Ice Forum operates rinks with hockey and figure skate rentals in Duluth and Kennesaw each day of the week while Center Ice Arena in Sandy Springs offers public skate times most days of the week. Most Mondays through Thursdays, you can take to the ice at The Ice in Cumming where your $8 admission fee also includes skate rental.
