As Atlanta prepares for snow, the Atlanta Botanical Garden has announced it will close at 1 p.m. today.

The garden's winter lights show, Garden Lights, Holiday Nights, is cancelled. Ticket holders should contact the Atlanta Botanical Garden at 404-876-5859 for a refund.

The lights display is scheduled to end on Jan. 7, but officials say they won’t make a decision regarding tomorrow’s hours until in the morning.

While heavy amounts of snow aren’t expected until later tonight, Gov. Nathan Deal has issued a state of emergency, beginning at noon.

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency advised residents to prepare to stay at home for at least three days.
