The Jacqueline Casey Hudgens Center for the Arts in Duluth recently named Ife Williams as their new executive director.

Williams holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in sculpture/metalsmithing from the University of Michigan, and pursued a masters degree in museum studies at Syracuse University.

A former curator at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, she has worked as a program development specialist for Fulton County, where she has served as an interim director at Fulton County Arts and Culture.

The Hudgens Center, founded in 1981, has grown to become a 34,000 square-foot arts center offering workshops, education and exhibition space.

In addition to hosting exhibitions and teaching classes in various techniques, the Hudgens Center awards the $50,000 Hudgens Prize, one of the nation’s largest cash awards to an individual artist.

Last year’s award was won by visual artist Bethany Collins.
