Take a tour of international art capitals — without leaving Atlanta.

That's one of the options available to young people participating in one of the High Museum of Art's week-long summer camp programs.

Open to ages 6 to 11, the International Art Stars camp, will introduce kids to art from around the world, all of it hanging in the High’s own galleries.

It's one of many summer camps available to Atlantans, and one of four summer day camps being offered at the Midtown art museum.

Other camps offered at the High Museum are:

•”Watercolors, Tempera, and Oils … Oh, My!” — a workshop-style camp for kids 9 to 11 dedicated to learning different techniques of painting.

•”Delve into Design” — a camp for kids 9 to 11 that uses the High’s collection to study the use of design in furniture, ceramics, clothing and elsewhere.

•”Crafty Creatives” — a place for kids 6 to 8 to make hands-on craft projects and study the crafts in the High’s collection.

Each session is a week long, and there are session from June 13-Aug. 5, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with before-care from 8-9 a.m. and aftercare from 4-6 p.m. Registration is now open at www.high.org.

The Summer Art Camps cost $350 for members and $400 for non-members. (There is an additional charge for before-care and aftercare).
