Charity Wine Tasting at Vino 100

Glasses clink, wine flows and the sound of acoustic guitar fills the air at this weekly celebration of the grape. Guitarist Timothy Price, a disciple of Chet Atkins, carries the finger style guitar torch by dipping into an eclectic bag of material. A standard such as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” might be paired next to a finger-style arrangement of Queen’s “Killer Queen.” Visitors sample from a host of wines and coat their tummies with on-the-house appetizers. Some take advantage of a shopping opportunity by perusing the store’s selection of top-tier wine and cigars. Budget buyers can find approximately 100 wines available at $25 or less. Some of the proceeds benefit a different charity each week. This time the recipient is StandUp For Kids, which works with homeless children.

4:30-6:30 p.m. Nov. 3. $10. Vino 100, 131 S. Main St., Suite G, Alpharetta. 770-343-8010, www.vino100alpharetta.com.

“The Rocky Horror Show” at The Alley Stage

Next Stage Theatre Company continues its second season by doing “The Time Warp” again. Theatre fans have one last weekend to catch its version of “The Rocky Horror Show,” the gender-bending stage production that inspired a cult film. Rob Roy Hardie directs the often interactive musical about a young couple who become stranded at Frankenstein’s pad. “Rocky Horror” fans are encouraged to keep Halloween going and wear their costumes. However, no outside props will be allowed. Those who want to get in on the act can buy prop goodie bags at the door for $2 each. Yeah, it’s colorful and campy, but parents should remember the show has plenty of adult themes.

8 p.m. Nov. 2-3 . $20-$25. The Alley Stage, 11 Anderson St., Marietta. 678-744-6398, www.nextstagetheatrecompany.com.
