Private Quarters: Atlantic Station condo with art, city views

A cocktail party conversation in 2014 sparked Vicki Hooten’s move to a Midtown Atlanta condo.

The Fluted Chandelier from West Elm was split up and installed as pendants in the kitchen of the Midtown Atlanta condo. The cherry cabinets maximize the storage space in the kitchen, which has granite countertops, tile backsplash and KitchenAid appliances. The bar stools are from Crate & Barrel.

Vicki Hooten and her family and friends can dine with dramatic views of downtown and Midtown Atlanta, illuminated by the Atrium Chandelier from West Elm. The round table is from Crate & Barrel (with chairs from The Dump), reflected in a massive mirror with a bronze frame.

The collection of Sid Dickens Memory Blocks began with about five in the 1990s, and homeowner Vicki Hooten has picked them up through the years and received them as gifts. She has about 50.

The guest bedroom, painted Sherwin-Williams' Breezy, looks onto greenery and city views. The steel queen bed is surrounded by an Eclipse table lamp and beveled floor mirror from West Elm. The bedding is Barbara Barry duvet and shams.

Original art continues into a guest bathroom, with a piece made of steel and paint by artist David Vigo. The countertop is granite and tile fills the shower.

When Vicki Hooten walks into her condo in The Atlantic, she immediately sees this piece of art by her son, Christopher Derek Bruno. It's called "Initial Color Study."

Just a portion of the homeowner's collection of Sid Dickens Memory Blocks are displayed in the home office. On the opposite wall, framed mixed media artwork by Samuel Ruder is above an antique love seat.

The condo's master bedroom is spacious enough for a Gus Modern Spencer Sofa from Bobby Berk Home. Above, there's a trio of paintings by Dawne Raulet. The walls are painted Sherwin-Williams' Willow Tree.

The wings over the tub in the master bathroom were facing down until Vicki Hooten and her son decided to flip them so they looked as if they were in flight. The wings are made of plaster, but look like wood. The walls are painted Sherwin-Williams' Willow Tree.

Leather Feliz chairs, from Cantoni, can swivel around to see the view of Midtown and downtown Atlanta. The lion's head table lamp is from RH Gallery.

The balcony, with a chair from Crate & Barrel, is accessible from the guest bedroom and living room. The Atlantic, a high-rise building in Midtown, was designed by Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates.

Three crowns, from RH Gallery, are displayed regally in the Atlanta condo, which has a number of sculptural items and pieces of original art. The walls are painted Sherwin-Williams' Tony Taupe.

Vicki Hooten, who works for ABC National Television Sales, purchased her two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath condo in The Atlantic in 2014. She downsized from a single-family home in Morningside, after being sold on the views from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Sculptures include a castle made of copper and granite on a reclaimed wood console table from West Elm.

A painting called, "Boat in Stormy Waters," which was her son's college project, fits with the walls painted Breezy in the guest room. Throughout the condo, Bertolli Floors installed walnut floors from Armstrong to lighten up the flooring, which previously was an espresso hue.
