Tall stalks of bamboo create a natural focal point against the walls of glass in Jim Wilson's home in 1065 Midtown, an Atlanta high-rise development.

A wall of windows in the dining room of Jim Wilson's high-rise condo opens to a large balcony overlooking Midtown Atlanta. He can see Buckhead, downtown Atlanta and Piedmont Park. "The night lights are unbelievable," he said.

A vibrant orchid configuration on the kitchen counter, by PFI (also known as Plants Forever Inc.) adds color and brings to life the modern gray kitchen with stainless steel appliances in Jim Wilson's Midtown condo. Painting and lighting renovations throughout the home were done by Building Revolutions.

The 36th floor corner unit in 1065 Midtown gives homeowner Jim Wilson a different view every time he sits at the dining table. "Your view is your weather," he said. "If a storm is moving through, you're seeing a storm coming through. It's like a picture every day, and it can be different."

One of homeowner Jim Wilson's favorite pieces of furniture in his condo is a small display table in the dining room. It holds an assortment of shells he and his late wife, Sydney, collected while traveling years ago.

A tall mirror reflects the light, open home Jim Wilson bought in Midtown Atlanta in 2015. Wilson has loved the 1065 Midtown high rise since it was built in 2010, and jumped at the chance to buy when the former rental property converted to condos.

Jim Wilson traded in his traditional Virginia-Highland house for a home in the sky in 2015. Guests in Jim Wilson's home are always given a room with a view. Depending on the weather, they can enjoy the city lights of Atlanta or feel like they are sleeping in the clouds. The bedding is from Macy's Hotel Collection.

Grays and blues to create a peaceful sleeping area in the guest bedroom of the Midtown high-rise condo. Synergy wired all the electronics and window coverings in the home to be controlled with the touch of a button. The guest bedroom has its own separate system that visitors can control.

From his vantage point, condo owner Jim Wilson can see the continued development of Midtown Atlanta and changing landscape with new apartment, condos and commercial developments.

A recent convert to the idea of decorating with wallpaper, homeowner Jim Wilson was inspired to paper his guest bathroom in white metallic sisal from Wallpaper & Stuff after seeing it used on bathroom walls in the Lowe's Atlanta Hotel. The hotel is below the condos in 1065 Midtown.

A freestanding tub and frameless glass showers are standard features in the master bathroom at 1065 Midtown. The bathrooms and rest of the condo have floor-to-ceiling glass walls.

The home office, converted from one of the 36th floor's three bedrooms, displays a signed John Smoltz jersey. Homeowner and entrepreneur Jim Wilson brought in a metal and glass desk from By Design Furniture and zebra print chairs from Rooms To Go.

Entrepreneur Jim Wilson moved into the 1065 Midtown high rise in 2015, after eyeing the property for five years. "You can't beat the location," he says. The Midtown unit combines the amenities of the Lowe's Atlanta Hotel in the same building with the privacy of a condo.

Bringing wallpaper into his modern condo was a stretch for homeowner Jim Wilson, who hadn't used it before. Wilson looked to Wallpaper & Stuff to find something that would dress up the walls and add texture in the hallway, where Wilson makes a statement with silver metallic grasscloth, a colorful sunburst mirror and the Maguire four-door cabinet.

The swan painting in Jim Wilson's bedroom is the first piece of art that he and his late wife, Sydney, bought in 1982 in Florida. It's among the pieces he kept when he downsized from a home in Virginia-Highland and moved into a condo in 1065 Midtown.

Long sheer curtains, by Motion Shading, dress up the high-rise space without detracting from the almost 360 degree views from the 36th-floor corner unit in Midtown.
