Homeowner found inspiration for interior design on Instagram

The 1920s bungalow stands in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood of Atlanta. It has 1,852 square feet, with three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths.

White layered rugs beneath the coffee table in her Old Fourth Ward living room to incorporate more style and color. The larger rug on the bottom is from Serena and Lily, and the smaller, brighter one came from Kishi's Rugs and Antiques.

The sofa, by Lee, is from GDC Home in South Carolina. It provides a clean backdrop for all of the color and pattern in the space.

A vintage yellow cabinet by Baker, found at Scott Antique Market in Atlanta, is the starting place for White to incorporate yellows and pinks into her blue-and-white living room. The art includes a cross-stitch of a crab, made by White's sister; a Great Dane bought in New York City for $50; and Polaroid of a taxi stand in her hometown of Morehead City, North Carolina.

Pocket doors separate the living room and home office. The elongated entry created a decorating dilemma until White found a long, narrow rug from Kishia's Rugs and Antiques that adds color and perfectly fits the space.

A daybed from CB2 is fitted with a custom-made mattress cover by Melissa Barraza, owner of M Squared Sewing. Coastal blues dominate the office's color scheme, from the large sailboat artwork and bright wallpaper to the blue-and-green Serena & Lily rug that anchors the space.

White received her dining room table and chairs as a gift from her parents, who purchased them in the 1960s. She had the chairs recovered in a blue-and-white pattern to complement the deep blue in the curtains and to fit the laid-back coastal decor in other parts of the home.

These Lyndon Leigh lamps add a glam rustic touch to the space. White said that when she moved in, the home had a lot of grays and silvers, and she enjoyed incorporating gold into the mix. Shades of pink in the artwork by Blakely Little of Charleston, South Carolina, add another layer of color.

Glass pendants hang above a wide Carrara marble-topped island in the center of the kitchen. Unexpected colors in the pink rug and pottery enliven the classic kitchen's bright white cupboards and marble counters. Plush barstools from Redefined Home Boutique in Atlanta provide comfortable seating.

The home is equipped with a butler's pantry, complete with refrigeration and a geometric wine rack.

The homeowner grew up on the coast in Morehead City, North Carolina. White wanted to bring a bit of the sea to the Old Fourth Ward home, which was featured on the 2016 Fall in the Fourth Tour of Homes in September. In her half-bathroom, this brilliant fish wallpaper by Cole & Son goes swimmingly with the shell-like frame on the mirror.

In the guest bedroom, the homeowner maintains a subtle maritime decor. Gold-framed art of a giant whale, from Ballard Backroom in Atlanta, appears to float on a sea of white walls above the bed, while a white throw pillow features the pale aqua outline of more sea creatures.

The lamp on the bedside table in Grace's master bedroom pulls in the ocean feel. The base strongly resembles coral, adding to the beach vibe.

A gold shelf from Westside Market Antiques and Interiors in Atlanta holds favorite photos, knickknacks and books. The blue sand hourglass and framed photograph of surfers are nods to the coastal interior design found throughout the bungalow.

White found this porch swing on Facebook. She tied it up with rope and found a crib mattress to fit the frame. She added a couple of plush pillows and a whale throw pillow to carry the beach vibe outside.

Grace White, a teacher, bought her home in 2015 after following real estate agent Ashley Bynum on Instagram. She also found discovered the watercolor-like wall coverings by Eskayel on the social media site.
