Couple chooses condo in the Atlantic

Tyrone Talifer and Donya Redmond relax in the living room of their condo at The Atlantic. The couple's daughter, Catherine Talifer, was visiting Atlanta in 2008 when she suggested her Midwestern parents take a trip to the South to check out Atlantic Station.

The Atlantic is in Midtown on 17th Street with access to shops and restaurants in Atlantic Station. We live in Michigan and wanted a relaxing adult getaway that had everything that we wanted at our disposal," Redmond said.

The couple did all of the interior design themselves, choosing earth tones and ivories.

We wanted the white couch to balance the room. ... The mirror and vase add visual interest to the living room, Redmond said.

"The living room is cozy with plenty of room for entertaining friends and neighbors."said Donya Redmond.

"We had the walls in the home treated by Les Roberts Designs. We told him that we wanted something artistic and different," Redmond said.

The master bedroom is masculine, yet still bright and comforting, Redmond said.

We hung a mirror over the spa tub, and the plant brings some outside into the home, Redmond said, noting Les Roberts Designs finished the walls in the bathroom.

The decorative bowl in the foyer was purchased at Interior Philosophy in Roswell.

The guest powder room has alligator print wallpaper.

The cabinetry and tile work was done by the builder, but the couple installed the light fixtures themselves.

The contemporary kitchen has stainless steel appliances.

The concierge and access to shopping and dining added to the experience and convenience of choosing The Atlantic.

"We saw the mirror and really liked it. We thought that it would go great in the living room."said Donya Redmond.
