Castleberry Point Lofts is a loft community located in Atlanta.

When Krista Ruggles's husband got a job downtown, they went shopping for a house. They looked in Inman Park, Candler Park and Decatur among other intown neighborhoods, but it wasn't until they found Castleberry Hill that felt they were in a community that had the community spirit they were looking for. After looking at what was available in Castleberry Hill, they bought a two-bedroom two-bath condo at Castleberry Point Lofts.

One reason Ruggles chose a second floor loft was that it came with concrete floors. The condo features a roommate plan which should work out well if the couple decides to lease their home later. Granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and chrome fixtures are great added features. Ruggles is growing tomatoes and herbs on her east-facing terrace.

Buying a move-in ready home has allowed Ruggles and her husband more time to get to know the neighborhood. Ruggles spent 10 years as a school teacher and twelve years as a model. The Atlanta Photography Guild meets at the pub right next door to Castleberry Point Lofts and that's allowed her to return to her hobby as a photographer, and to meet other photographers and get back into the modeling business. In every way, Ruggles seems to have found the right home in just the right neighborhood.

Ruggles and her two Dalmatians Caval and Grendel take daily walks around the neighborhood. It's quite a change from their four-bedroom three-bath house on a third of an acre in Raleigh, North Carolina, but everyone has adjusted quite well. Ruggles's husband walks to work and she's become co-chair for neighborhood relations for the Castleberry Hill Neighborhood Association.

Castleberry Hill was immediately welcoming to the couple. "We've lived in Miami, Miami Beach, Gainesville, Florida and Raleigh, and I have to say that I have never met so many people in such a short of amount of time," said Ruggles. "You walk down the street and people say 'hello' and want to get to know you.

Krista and her sister Kelly will soon be opening Two Sisters Market, a grocery store and delicatessen, as part of the retail offerings at Castleberry Point. She thinks the building is in a great spot to take advantage of foot traffic from the downtown federal and state office buildings, and sees the growing retail potential of the Castleberry Hill neighborhood. So far a wine store has opened, and a salon, clothing store, barber shop and art gallery are all in the works.
