Last week, beauty expert Deepica Mutyala, had the unfortunate experience of having a live beauty segment go horribly wrong.

Mutyala, serving as the on-air beauty pro on a Today Show segment titled "One minute summer hair," fumbled while styling a black woman's natural hair.

The model's hair, which was supposed to have been styled in a high ponytail with bangs, ended up looking wind-blown and ragged as if it had not been styled at all.

The video of the show went viral and drew comments ranging from criticism of Mutyala and her hair styling skills to criticism of the Today Show for promoting someone untrained as an expert.

Mutyala took to social media with an apology:

This time around, Mutyala seemed to have more champions than critics. Many people were surprised to see an actual apology without the usual ton of excuses.

From most of the responses, it looks like all is forgiven.
