Here's a blast from the past -- the Soup Nazi of Seinfeld fame aka actor Larry Thomas is in town serving up soup to fans at a local Kroger store.
On Jan. 13, you can catch the Soupman and hear him say his famous catchphrase at Kroger on 2875 N. Decatur Rd, Decatur from 2-5 p.m. He is in town to help celebrate the arrival of Original SoupMan soups at all Kroger stores in metro Atlanta.
From 11-5 p.m. the store will be serving up samples of Original SoupMan Chicken Noodle, Chicken Gumbo, Lobster Bisque and Crab and Corn Chowder, which are now available at all local Kroger Stores. The SoupMan will also reportedly share the secret recipes behind the soups made famous on Seinfeld.
Original SoupMan is also donating soup for 1,000 at The Atlanta Food Bank, 732 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd., NW Atlanta.

The character is based on Al Yeganeh, who began serving his soups with a side of sourpuss, in 1984 at a storefront on West 55th Street in New York. After Seinfeld, Yeganeh closed the shop and began franchising and building the Original SoupMan brand.
Five years ago, the original store on 55th street re-opened. There are locations across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. SoupMan soups are available for retail at Ingles and Kroger stores in metro Atlanta.
